BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Aug. 26, 2019) - The Chicago Fire Soccer Club will travel to MAPFRE Stadium to take on Columbus Crew SC on Saturday, Aug. 31. Set to begin at 6:30 p.m. CT, the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+ and transmitted locally in Spanish on TUDN Radio Chicago 1200 AM. The ESPN+ pregame show, presented by CIBC, will begin at 6:15 p.m. CT.

The Fire (8-12-9, 33 points) enter Saturday's match against Crew SC with five games remaining in the 2019 regular season. Most recently, Chicago dropped a hard-fought 2-1 match against the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 24. Defender Francisco Calvo recorded his third goal of the season, while midfielder Nicolás Gaitán notched his team-high 10th assist of the season. With the assist, Gaitán became the first Fire player to record 10 or more assists in a single season since 2010.

Saturday's contest against Columbus will mark the second and final meeting between the two teams in the 2019 regular season. The Fire previously hosted Crew SC at SeatGeek Stadium on July 17, earning a point in a 2-2 draw. Overall, the Men in Red have produced a 26-19-20 record against Columbus since entering the league in 1998.

Heading into Saturday's match, Crew SC (8-15-6, 30 points) currently sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings. The team's last home win occurred on July 20 when they defeated the Montreal Impact by a 2-1 scoreline at MAPFRE Stadium. Most recently, Columbus secured a 3-1 win against in-state rival FC Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium on August 25.
