CHICAGO FIRE U-18s CROWNED 2014/15 USSDA NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
The Chicago Fire U-18 Academy side defeated Real Salt Lake Arizona by a score of 3-1 on Saturday, July 18 at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif. to capture the U.S. Soccer Development Academy 2014/15 national title.
The Fire raced out to an early lead in the 13th minute when Mikey Jimenez headed home a saved shot. Andrew Gutman made it 2-0 right before halftime when he took the ball off the foot of his opponent and raced into the box, sliding his shot under the RSL 'keeper. RSL's Amar Sejdic pulled one back in the 50th minute with a blast from 25 yards out but Gutman forced an own goal in the 80th minute as the Fire emerged victorious.
