
Checkers Trim Training Camp Roster to 31

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Checkers head coach and general manager Jeff Daniels announced today the team has assigned four players to its ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades. The Checkers' roster now stands at 31 players and an updated roster is attached to this release.
Assigned to Florida were forwards Matt Beca and David Rutherford, defenseman Joe Sova and goaltender Rob Madore. Additionally, defenseman Bobby Raymond was released from his tryout contract and will report to Florida.
The Checkers will travel to Norfolk Saturday and Sunday for a two-game preseason set against the defending Calder Cup champion Admirals.
The Checkers' home opener is set for Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office and www.ticketmaster.com.
