Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that Friday's pre-season contest in Hershey (7 p.m. face-off) will be broadcast live on Binghamton's Classic Hits - BIG 107.5 beginning with the M&T Bank Countdown to Face-Off at 6:45 p.m. Additionally, TEAM 1200 will also carry Friday's contest as the flagship station of the Ottawa Senators joins the Senators Broadcast Network during the NHL's current work stoppage.
BIG 107.5 will once again broadcast all 76 regular season games in the final season of a two-year agreement with the Clear Channel property. The regular season broadcast schedule begins Saturday, Oct. 13, when the Senators host East Division rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
TEAM 1200 joins the Senators Broadcast Network for a third time during the 11-year player affiliation agreement between Ottawa and Binghamton. TEAM 1200 first carried B-Sens action periodically during the 2004-05 NHL lockout that lasted the entire season. Most recently, TEAM 1200 carried the entire slate of post-season action in the spring of 2011 as the Binghamton Senators captured the city's first AHL championship, winning the Calder Cup in a six-game final series against the Houston Aeros.
The voice of the Binghamton Senators, Grady Whittenburg, will once again provide the play-by-play for every Senators broadcast as he begins his tenth season behind the microphone with the club.
TEAM 1200's October coverage of B-Sens hockey includes six of the first seven regular season contests:
Saturday, Oct. 13 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 7:05 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 16 @ Rochester 7:05 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 19 vs. Hershey 7:05 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 20 vs. Syracuse 7:05 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 27 @ Portland 7 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 28 @ Manchester 4 p.m.
The Binghamton Senators, in conjunction with TEAM 1200, will announce additional broadcast dates contingent upon the progress of the NHL labor negotiations with the Professional Hockey Players Association.
Following Friday's game in Hershey, the Senators wrap up the pre-season slate Saturday against the Albany Devils in a 7:05 p.m. face-off (no broadcast). $10 general admission tickets ($9 for Binghamton Senators season ticket holders) can be purchased by phone at 607-722-SENS (7367), in person at the Binghamton Senators' executive office or the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office or online at www.ticketmaster.com .
Saturday's pre-season finale will also feature a post-game skate. Admission to the skate is free with the purchase of a ticket to that evening's game. Those who wish to participate must bring their own skates.
