South Carolina tied the contest after a loose puck in front of Checkers netminder, Mike Ayers was slammed home by Travis Morin at 7:26. This tied the game at 1-1. Charlotte would recapture their one goal advantage when Parley couldn't smoother a puck in front of the crease. Jeff Kyrzakos skated to the goal mouth and slid the puck past the goalie at 10:52.
In the third period, Stingrays blueliner, Rory Rawlyk scored on a third rebound chance off the pads of Mike Ayers at 11:24. Charlotte would follow up with several great chances to end the game before overtime, but they couldn't find a way to beat Parley.
During the extra session, Mark Lee carried the puck coast-to-coast and wristed a shot over the glove of Parley scoring the game winner at 3:03.
