
Charlie Davies Named MLS Player of the Week

Washington, D.C. (September 12, 2011) - D.C. United announced today that forward Charlie Davies has been named MLS Player of the Week for Week 26 by the North American Soccer Reporters. Davies scored all three of United's goals during Saturday's 3-0 victory against Chivas USA.
Davies' hat trick has brought him back into the Budweiser Golden Boot race, placing him in second position with 11 MLS goals in 2011. Davies is behind only LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan and New York's Thierry Henry, with both players on 12 goals.
In addition to his 11 tallies this season, Davies has started 14 of the 20 games he has played with the Black-and-Red, registering one assist in 1,266 minutes of action.
