
U.S. Women's National Team to Hold Open Practice for Fans

CHICAGO (Sept. 12, 2011) - All U.S. Soccer fans are invited to attend the U.S. Women's National Team public training session on Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 12-1 p.m. (PT) at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, Ore. Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. and admission is free. Fans wishing to attend the open training session are requested to register by Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 12 noon PT, by logging on to this site to RSVP: http://www.ussoccer.com/Forms/20110921-Fan-RSVP-Sept-21-Training.aspx.
The U.S. Women will face Canada on Sept. 22 at JELD-WEN Field in what will be the final match featuring the 21-player 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup roster. Kickoff is 8 p.m. PT and some tickets remain for the match. Fans can purchase by phone at 1-800-745-3000 and at all Ticketmaster ticket centers throughout the Portland area, as well as at the JELD-WEN Field box office. Groups of 20 or more can obtain an order form at ussoccer.com or call 312-528-1290.
This will be the second leg of the two-game "Celebration Series" as the teams will have also met on Sept. 17 in Kansas City. U.S. head coach Pia Sundhage and the players are holding open trainings in both markets to thank the fans for their tremendous support this summer during the Women's World Cup.
U.S. Soccer will send out additional information about the session, stadium access points, parking, etc., via email 24 hours prior to the event to those who RSVP. All training times and locations are subject to change.
