Chicago Fire Host Chivas Del Guadalajara and Chivas USA

The Chicago Fire (4-8-15, 27 points) step out of league play to take on storied Mexican side Club Deportivo Guadalajara at TOYOTA PARK Presented by Miller Lite Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 p.m. CT. Following the mid-week international friendly the Fire will welcome Chivas USA to the club's soccer-specific home for a MLS tilt in support of Hispanic Heritage Day at TOYOTA PARK on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 3:00 p.m. CT (CSN/TeleFutura).

The Fire are 6-9-3 all-time in international friendlies since 1998, playing 17 matches against teams from Mexico, England, Italy, Germany, France, Scotland and Poland. The Fire and Chivas del Guadalajara have only faced each other once previously at Soldier Field on July 13, 2000. The Men in Red fell to the Red and White 1-0 in front of 22,260 supporters at the former Fire home.

The Men in Red are 6-4-3 against Chivas USA and are unbeaten in the last six matches dating back to June 2008. With four of the Fire's final seven matches at home, Frank Klopas' side will look to gain valuable points in Chicago in consecutive weeks as the sun sets on the MLS regular season.

CLUB DEPORTIVO GUADALAJARA ROSTER

Chivas head coach Jose Luis Real heads to Bridgeview with a veteran roster highlighted by Guadalajara defenders Héctor Reynoso and Jonny Magall�n, and forwards Alberto Medina and Omar Arellano. The all-Mexican roster also includes talented young players such as defender Miguel Angel Ponce, midfielder Marco Fabian and forward Carlos Fierro, who was a member of the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup champion Mexican National Team.

* The Chicago Fire are 6-4-3 all-time against Chivas USA, including 3-2-1 in matches played in the Windy City dating back to 2005.

* The Fire played Chivas USA to a 1-1 draw in the first meeting of the season July 2 at The Home Depot Center. Dominic Oduro found the goal in the 26th minute only to have a Nick LaBrocca strike level the match one minute after halftime.

* Fire defender Dan Gargan will miss the Chivas USA match due to yellow card suspension.

* With nine goals, Dominic Oduro sits on the precipice of the double-digit goal mark. With his next tally Oduro will become the first Fire player to notch 10 goals since Damani Ralph did so in 2004.

* For the second consecutive week the Fire will see a former goalkeeper on the opposing bench. Chivas 'keeper Zach Thornton appeared in 215 games for the Men in Red and holds nearly every goalkeeping record, including 109 wins and 57 shutouts while with the club from 1998-2006.

CHICAGO FIRE AND AMERICAN AIRLINES TEAM UP TO PRESENT 2011 HISPANIC HERITAGE DAY AT TOYOTA PARK

The Chicago Fire Soccer Club is proud to team with American Airlines to present the 11th annual Hispanic Heritage Day on Saturday, Sept. 17, during the Fire's match against Chivas USA at TOYOTA PARK at 3:00 p.m. CT (CSN/TeleFutura).

Supporters can purchase a Chivas two-pack which includes a ticket to the Chicago Fire - Chivas del Guadalajara match at TOYOTA PARK on Wednesday, Sept. 14 and a ticket for Hispanic Heritage Day against Chivas USA.
