(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Rob Refsnyder's run-scoring double in the sixth inning broke a 2-2 tie and the Charleston RiverDogs went on to defeat the Lexington Legends 3-2 Friday night. The loss was the ninth in a row for the Legends.

Charleston took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a leadoff double by Saxon Butler and a two-out homer by Ali Castillo.

The Legends tied the game with two runs in the fifth. Chris Epps led off with a walk and stole second base. After Nolan Fontana walked, Epps went to third when Charleston shortstop Cito Culver could not handle a pick-off attempt thrown by catcher Francisco Arcia. Jobduan Morales bounced a single into left field, plating Epps and moving Fontana to second. After Justin Gominsky sacrificed Fontana to third and Morales to second, Ryan McCurdy grounded out to second, driving home Fontana with the tying run.

Charleston scored the decisive run in the sixth. Culver walked with one out and scored when Refsnyder lined a double to left field, giving the RiverDogs a 3-2 advantage.

Charlie Short (1-0) relieved starter Cesar Vargas with two outs in the fifth inning and picked up the win, tossing an inning and one-third of scoreless relief. Pedro Guerra set down the Legends in order in the ninth to earn his sixth save of the season.

Legends starter Jonas Dufek (6-4) got the loss. Dufek allowed three runs over six innings of work, striking out eight RiverDog batters and walking one.

They play game three of their four- game series with Charleston on Saturday night. First pitch at Whitaker Bank Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
