CANTON, OH - The Canton Charge (12-17), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, fell to the Wisconsin Herd (7-22), 117-105, Friday night at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. Entering the game with the worst record in the Eastern Conference, the Herd are now winners of three straight heading into a Sunday matinee matchup with the Erie BayHawks.

After a back-and-forth first quarter that saw seven lead changes, the Herd opened the second quarter on a 16-2 run to jump out to a 39-26 lead. The visitors shot 59% from the field in the second, connecting on 17-of-29 shots. Herd guard Nick Johnson connected on 2-of-3 attempts from three-point distance and tallied 12 of his 14 first half points in the quarter. Canton cooled off after a solid first quarter and went cold from the perimeter, shooting 1-of-6 (17%). The Herd showed their muscle down low, outrebounding the Charge 16-6 and outscoring the Charge 22-14 in the paint. After 24 minutes, the Herd entered the break with a comfortable 65-49 lead.

The Charge responded with an 8-1 run to open the second half to cut the lead to 57-66 at the 8:50 mark of the third. The Herd countered with a 7-0 run to push the lead to 73-57. The Charge fought back to cut the lead back to nine with 3:46 in the third before the Herd responded with their second 7-0 run of the quarter to push the lead back to 16.

Trailing by as many as 15 in the fourth quarter, JaCorey Williams scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Charge cut the deficit to 110-105 with 1:24 remaining. Out of a timeout, the Herd ended the game on another 7-0 run to put the Charge away, 117-105.

Williams notched his second double-double of the season, leading the Charge in points (25), rebounds (12) and tied for the lead with assists (6) in 38 minutes. Williams is shooting 67% over his last five games while averaging 21.2 points per game. Scoochie Smith scored a season-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting while dishing out six assists in 41 minutes. Sir'Dominic Pointer continued his strong play with 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Christian Wood scored a game-high 28 points while grabbing a game-high 15 rebounds in 35 minutes. Former Charge forward Bonzie Colson scored eight points in 32 minutes. Michael Qualls netted 20 points and Nick Johnson finished with 16 points and 11 assists.

The Charge are back in action tomorrow night at the Canton Civic Center for a matchup with the Central Division leading Fort Wayne Mad Ants at 7:30 PM (TV: Facebook Live; RADIO: 99.7 FM).
