GENEVA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Chicago Cubs, have announced that catcher/outfielder Kyle Schwarber has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Daytona. The Cougars have received infielder Giuseppe Papaccio from Short-A Boise. Today's roster move maintains the Midwest League maximum of 25 active players as the Cougars open a six-game road trip in Lansing, Michigan tonight against the Lugnuts. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CST.

Schwarber (1st round, 2014), who joined the Cougars on June 19, hit safely in 15 of the 23 games he played at Kane County and batted.361 with 4 home runs and 15 RBI. He recorded an on-base percentage of .448 and spent time as a catcher, left fielder and designated hitter. Schwarber was the highest overall draft selection to play for the Cougars since Adrian Gonzalez, the first overall selection in the 2000 draft who patrolled first base during the team's 2001 championship season.

Papaccio (18th round, 2013) has played at Double-A Tennessee, Class-A Advanced Daytona and most recently, Short-A Boise in 2014. In 23 games at Boise, Papaccio was batting .222 and was used primarily as a shortstop. Papaccio was the first member of the Cubs' 2013 draft class to play for the Cougars last season, joining the club on July 4 last summer. In 37 games last season at Kane County, Papaccio batted .279 with 2 home runs and 13 RBI.
