
CFL Releases 2015 Schedule

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce the Canadian Football League has released its complete 2015 schedule.
This year's schedule has the Saskatchewan Roughriders opening their regular season at home on Saturday, June 27th. The regular season opener will see the Riders welcome West Division rivals Winnipeg Blue Bombers to Mosaic Stadium for a 6:00PM kick-off.
The Roughriders' regular season home schedule has them playing at Mosaic Stadium on Friday (one game), Saturday (four games) and Sunday (four games). Each team will visit Regina once, with Winnipeg being the only team to visit twice.
The Roughriders' away schedule has them playing on the road on Friday (three games), Saturday (four games) and Sunday (two games). They will visit each team once and visit B.C. a second time.
Once again the Saskatchewan Roughriders will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the traditional Labour Day Classic on Sunday, September 6th for a 2:00PM local kick-off time.
The Green and White will showcase the 2015 hopefuls in their first pre-season game on Saturday, June 13th when they travel to Fort McMurray to play the Edmonton Eskimos. The following week will have the Riders playing their final pre-season match-up at home against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday, June 19th at 7:30PM.
ROUGHRIDER SCHEDULE NOTABLES:
- The Riders open 2015 by playing four of their first five games at Mosaic Stadium. They have a split of five home and four away in the first half versus four home, five away in the back nine.
- They will play each of the other eight teams at home and away once with Winnipeg making an additional trip to Regina, and the Riders will make a second trip to B.C. to fill the 18 game regular season.
- The last time the Riders opened at home versus Winnipeg was 2005. After a lengthy rain delay, the game started with Rider returner Corey Holmes taking the season opening kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown.
- The team will have their first bye during week eight with the second coming during week 17.
- Saskatchewan will host the Canadian Football Hall of Fame Game Saturday, August 22nd versus Calgary. Former Riders Gene Makowsky and Eddie Davis are part of the 2015 class.
- The 51st annual Labour Day Classic will be played Sunday, September 6 at 2:00. The Riders have won the last ten and hold a 33-17 advantage through the first 50 matchups.
- In a change of tradition the Labour Day Rematch in Winnipeg will be moved to Saturday, September 12th with a 5:30 local start.
- Of the Riders nine home games six will be evening start times (5:00 or later). Since 2008 the Riders have a 22-8 record during evening games at Mosaic Stadium.
