CF Montréal Rallies past FC Cincinnati

CINCINNATI, Ohio - CF Montréal came back twice from one goal deficits to defeat FC Cincinnati 4-3 Saturday afternoon at TQL Stadium. Djordje Mihailovic (17', 41'), Kei Kamara (45+1') and Joaquín Torres (67') scored CF Montréal's four goals.

CF Montréal's next match will be against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena on Saturday, April 9 at 4pm (TVA Sports, 91.9 Sports, TSN690.ca).

Game notes

-Djordje Mihailovic scored the first brace of his career. The midfielder has scored three goals in his last two matches. He has now scored seven times since joining CF Montréal.

-Midfielder Victor Wanyama collected two assists in the match.

-It was the first time in the Club's MLS history that CF Montréal scored three goals in a single half in back-to-back road games.

-Forward Kei Kamara scored his first career goal with CF Montréal. It was also his 131st goal in MLS.

"I'm happy for the players because we didn't have an easy match today. The guys didn't need many chances to score. We still conceded some avoidable goals, but the players responded well, and they didn't let up. The players know they must do better in some respects. Every game we play with different tactical profiles. Defensively it doesn't change too much but offensively there is always a variation like today."

DJORDJE MIHAILOVIC

"It is great to get the first win of the season. It came later than we wanted but we got it done. And it is good to experience this kind of game because Cincinnati took the lead twice but we fought back. That shows the character of this team. Compared to our last game against Atlanta, today was a completely different mentality and mindset. We believed we could get a result today beyond a draw."

KEI KAMARA

"Multiple different players are scoring goals on this team and that is a really good thing. It takes a lot of pressure off Romell and me. One of the messages today was 'Don't score multiple goals on the road and come out of the game with no result.' Whether it is on set pieces or corner kicks, we must defend and attack as a unit. Our locker-room is united. The youth is great and I'm cherishing the opportunity to be a leader on this team. Hopefully I can continue to play my part with these men."
