August 27, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Club de Foot Montreal News Release
CHICAGO, Illinois - CF Montréal remained undefeated for an eighth consecutive game (6-0-2) by defeating the Fire 0-2 Saturday night at Soldier Field, in Chicago.
Montreal midfielder Ismaël Koné scored his second goal of the season in the 19th minute, before striker Romell Quioto double the team's lead via free-kick with his 15th goal of the season five minutes later (24'), also scoring from outside the box.
Montreal defended its two-goal lead by playing with 10 men for the entire second half, due to a second yellow card given to Koné in first half stoppage time.
Montreal equaled another Club record by winning a 15th game this season.
With three more points, the Bleu-blanc-noir remains in second place in the Eastern Conference, five points behind the Philadelphia Union, who also won on Saturday night.
With seven games to go in the MLS regular season, CF Montréal will play its next game this Wednesday at 7:30pm , against the New York Red Bulls at Stade Saputo.

WILFRIED NANCY
"The guys gave everything they had. Once again, they had to face unforeseen adversity that wasn't expected, but they focused on the task to go and get this win, and on top of it they did it without conceding. We had to be brave, and we had to be confident. Every game is hard, especially in this time of year. The group was strong mentally today, and that's why we were able to get the win."
JOEL WATERMAN
"We're defending our box really well right now. We're staying high and we're being aggressive, and we're doing what we do in training. Our communication has been amazing as well. That's we want to be doing as a defensive unit and getting two straight clean sheets feels really good."
SAMUEL PIETTE
"We were really good defensively in the second half. We knew it was going to be difficult with a man less, but it's easier to perform from a mental perspective when you know you have a two-goal lead. We stayed tight as a unit and put good pressure on whoever had possession on their end."
