March 10, 2011 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release
GREENVILLE, SC - Following a two-game trip to Florida this weekend, the Greenville Road Warriors will be at the BI-LO Center to celebrate St. Patrick's Day all weekend next weekend. Fans have three chances to come out and join the party at one of the home games against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
For the series opener against Cincinnati on Thursday, March 17 the Road Warriors will debut their green-themed St. Patrick's Day jerseys. They are the final specialty jerseys that the Road Warriors will wear this season and, as a Road Warriors' treat, will be worn for all three games of the series against Cincinnati. A live auction will follow the game on Saturday evening and fans looking for more details regarding the auction should stay tuned to www.greenvilleroadwarriors.com to find out exactly how it will work. St. Patrick's Day celebrators will be happy to note that the game on the 17th is "Dollar Drink Thursday" presented by Carolina Ale House. Select draught beers and fountain drinks will be on sale during the game for just $1!
Friday, March 18th features the popular SPINX Friday Family Four-Pack which offers unmatched savings on a night out with the Road Warriors. The SPINX Friday Family Four-Pack is available through the BI-LO Center Box Office which is open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and gets you four gold-level tickets, four hot dogs, four bags of chips, four pretzels, and four fountain drinks for just $48! That's savings of $35 off of the face-value for those items. On Fridy the Road Warriors players won't be competing only on the ice. Six players, who will be announced in the coming days, will participate in a St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraising challenge. There will be a donation location set up on the BI-LO Center concourse and fans can donate money in the name of their favorite of the six participants. The three players who have the most money donated in their name will then have their heads shaved in support of the cause. All money raised for St. Baldrick's Foundation benefits childhood cancer research.
The Road Warriors close the weekend series with Cincinnati on Saturday, March 19 and will hold a post-game jersey auction of their St. Patrick's Day-themed jerseys. Fans can bid live on their favorite player's jersey and the winning bidders get to take the jersey home with them right off of the player's back! The Road Warriors are also planning a pre-game ceremony to recognize coach Dean Stork and forward Jimmy Kilpatrick and their 2010 Kelly Cup Championship as members of the Cincinnati Cyclones. Stork was an assistant coach with Cincinnati for four seasons and Kilpatrick played a pair of campaigns with the Cyclones before arriving in Greenville.
Group tickets are available for each of the Road Warriors' three games next weekend. If you have a group of 10 or more call 864-674-PUCK to speak to a Road Warriors representative. Groups get discounts off the box office price, preferred seating based on availability, and other great benefits. The Road Warriors also offer birthday party packages and luxury suite packages for groups.
