Cats win fourth straight, 11-3

Lincoln, NE - Third baseman Michael Bell had a home run and five runs batted in as the Cats defeated Lincoln 11-3 Friday night at Haymarket Park.

The Cats in the first two innings took advantage of the wildness of Saltdogs' starting pitcher Jonathan Figueroa. After Brian Fryer led off the first inning with a single, the Cats drew back-to-back walks before Pat O'Sullivan drove in a run with a single. The Cats got another run in the first as John Allen grounded into a double play.

Fort Worth added two more runs in the second on a bases-loaded walk and another double play ground out. Figueroa walked the first four hitters he faced in the game before being replaced on the mound.

In the third inning, Bell smacked his second home run of the year, a two-run shot to left to make it a 6-0 advantage. In the fifth, Bell struck again, this time doubling to right-center with the bases loaded to give the Cats a 9-1 lead. Cameron Blair added an RBI single, part of a four-run fifth inning to make it 10-1.

Cats' starter Dan Grybash went six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits to notch his second win of the season. Figueroa (0-2) suffered the loss as he permitted four runs on two hits and six walks in one inning of work.

Bell finished the game 2-for-4 with a season-high five RBIs. O'SUllivan had four hits and an RBI in the game as the Cats pounded out 12 hits against Saltdogs pitching.

Game two of the season in Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. Joel Kirsten gets the start for Fort Worth with Jim Paduch going for Lincoln.
