Pensacola scored all the runs they needed in the first three innings and held off Grand Prairie 7-6. Pelicans 3B Antoin Gray hit a three run blast to left in the second inning and led the Pelicans with four RBI. Pensacola SS Jimmy Mojica and CF Francisco Leandro set the table for him all night as they reached base a combined seven times. Grand Prairie RF Derek Nicholson had a strong game finishing 3-for-4 and LF Noel Trevino finished 3-for-5 with two RBI. Airhogs starter Justin Garcia allowed seven runs in just 2 1/3 innings and took the loss while Pensacola's Bubba Nelson earned the win and moved his record to 1-1 on the season.

El Paso 8, Shreveport-Bossier 1

El Paso used six hits in the eighth inning to put up six runs and blow open a close game, beating Shreveport-Bossier by an 8-1 final. The first four batters in the Diablos order collected a total of nine hits. SS Arnoldo Ponce went 3-for-6 with two runs scored and CF Kennard Bibbs had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBI for El Paso. Diablos starter Dane De La Rosa went 6 1/3 innings, allowed just one earned run, and struck out four to get the win. Jorge Jugo pitched well for the Captains, surrendering just two earned runs over six innings, but took the loss to drop to 0-2.

Wichita 7, Sioux City 5

Trailing 4-3 in the top of the eighth inning Wichita rallied to score three times and held off Sioux City 7-5. Wingnuts DH Kelly Hunt had the hot bat for Wichita as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI and hit his second homer of the year. Wingnuts C Zach Goldberg was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored and a RBI. Explorers reliever Ty Marotz took the loss dropping his record to 1-1 on the season. Robert Rhoden pitched the eighth inning for Wichita and picked up the win while Amad Stephens worked the ninth for his third save.

Ft. Worth 11, Lincoln 3

Fort Worth scored six times in the first three innings and cruised past Lincoln 11-3. Dan Grybash went six strong innings for the Cats and got his second win of the year while 3B Michael Bell had a big night at the plate going 3-for-4 with a homerun, five RBI, and three runs scored. Fort Worth 1B Pat O'Sullivan was red hot as well finishing 4-for-5. Lincoln starter Jonathan Figueroa had control problems as he lasted just one inning and walked six batters. He took the loss for the Saltdogs, dropping to 0-2.

St. Paul 5, Sioux Falls 2

HR: SP- Jacob Butler (1), Daron Roberts (1); SF- Beau Torbert (1)

St. Paul used three late runs to break a 2-2 tie and down the Sioux Falls Canaries 5-2. Saints starter Mitch Wylie struck out six in six innings of work and induced a ground ball double play to escape a bases loaded situation that kept the game tied. St. Paul reliever Kyle Foster worked two scoreless innings to get the win. Kerry Ligtenberg worked a perfect ninth inning for the save. Four Saints batters had multi-hit games including RF Daron Roberts who hit his first homer of the year.
