PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - Richard Castillo tossed six shutout innings for the second consecutive outing and Kyle Conley drove in three with a pair of doubles to lead the Palm Beach Cardinals (23-19, 52-59) to a 6-0 victory over the Charlotte Stone Crabs (23-18, 53-57) Friday night in the finale of a three-game series at Charlotte Sports Park.

Castillo (2-3, 5.17 ERA) nearly duplicated his outing from last week in a win against Clearwater, allowing just three hits in six innings once again while this time walking three and striking out six. The fifth-year righty, signed by the Cardinals as a non-drafted free agent out of Barquisimeto, Venezuela, in 2007, has now won two straight decisions in his fifth start since being transferred from Class-AA Springfield in late June.

Domnit Bolivar, who took over for Starlin Rodriguez after a hit-by-pitch in the first, led off the third with a single and moved to second on the second balk of the game from Charlotte starter Alex Koronis (7-6, 4.12 ERA). After a walk Conley drove home both runners with a RBI-double to center to give the Cards a 2-0 lead, but was stranded at third following a Rainel Rosario double and three straight outs to dampen the potential damage.

Conley came right back to drive home Bolivar again an inning later with another RBI-double to give Castillo and the Cardinals a 3-0 lead. Palm Beach added an insurance run in the seventh on a perfectly executed suicide squeeze bunt from Robert Stock, scoring Greg Garcia, and Bolivar knocked in another in the eighth with a run-scoring hit to left. Another run scored on Bolivar's hit thanks to an error by Anthony Scelfo in left field that brought the score to 6-0 Palm Beach.

Justin Smith took over for Castillo to begin the seventh and fired two scoreless innings before turning it over to Keith Butler in the ninth, who struck out two to secure the 6-0 shutout. Bolivar had two hits and scored twice, Conley increased his RBI total to 31 and Garcia drew a pair of walks to score twice as well.

Palm Beach returns home after the series win to begin a six-game homestand tomorrow night as right-hander Eric Fornataro (6-10, 3.63 ERA) faces off against lefty Jhon Garcia (3-5, 3.87 ERA) and the Fort Myers Miracle at 6:35 p.m. from Roger Dean Stadium.
