Carroll Named PCL Hitter Of The Week
April 28, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
For the second time in as many weeks, an Albuquerque Isotopes slugger has been singled out as Pacific Coast League Hitter of the Week, as Brett Carroll has earned the accolade for games beginning on April 21 and continuing through April 27. Carroll follows fellow outfielder John Gall, who nabbed the honor last week, becoming the second Isotope to win the award already this season.
In just six games played this week, Carroll batted a blistering .500 (10x20) with 10 runs scored, a double, four homers, and eight RBI. The native of Knoxville, Tennessee is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak and is second in the PCL in average with a mark of .417 (25x60), and tied for first in homers with eight.
Albuquerque begins its first eight-game homestand of the season tonight with a four-game series with the Las Vegas 51s, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers followed by four games with the Tucson Sidewinders, Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
