Wilson And Wood Among More Angels Moves

SALT LAKE CITY - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has optioned pitchers Jose Arredondo and Rich Thompson to triple-A Salt Lake. Catcher Bobby Wilson and infielder Brandon Wood have also been recalled to the Angels from Salt Lake.

In other movement, the Salt Lake Bees assigned right-handed pitcher Milan Dinga to single-A Cedar Rapids and called up catcher Alberto Rosario from single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Wilson, 25, appeared in 16 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .339 with 12 RBI and six doubles. Originally selected by the Angels in the 2002 draft, the Dunedin, Fla. native's first appearance with the Angels will be his major league debut.

Wood, 23, appeared in 21 games for the Bees in 2008, hitting .273 with a team-high eight home runs, 18 RBI and six doubles. A native of Austin, Texas, Wood made his major league debut with the Angels on April 26, 2007.

Arredondo, 24, was called up to the Angels on April 26, but did not appear in a game. The Dominican Republic native owns a 1-0 record and 1.80 ERA with the Bees in 2008, along with a team-high seven saves.

Thompson, 23, appeared in one game in his recent stint with the Angels, registering one strike out in one inning at Detroit on April 26. He began the season with the Angels appearing in one game before being optioned to Salt Lake on April 5. The Australian native owns a 1-0 record and 2.57 ERA with the Bees in 2008.

Dinga, 23, appeared in one game for the Bees allowing one hit with one strike out in one inning on April 27. His lone inning with the Bees was his first triple-A appearance.

Rosario, 21, joins the Bees from single-A Rancho Cucamonga where he appeared in seven games, hitting .150 with three RBI in 2008. The Dominican Republic native will make his first triple-A appearance with the Salt Lake Bees.
