Missoula PaddleHeads News Release

MISSOULA, MT - The Billings Mustangs (16-23) topped the Missoula Osprey (20-19), 9-5, at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field Friday night. RF Tristen Carranza hit his fifth homer of the season, finishing 3-4, driving in three runs.

Osprey starter Patrick McGuff (L, 4-3) allowed five runs on seven hits, striking out five in five innings. The tough start was too much for the O's to overcome down the stretch.

Mustangs catcher Eric Yang drove four of the nine runs home for Billings, with a three-run homer in the 3rd helping to finish the night 2-5.

With a run coming in the top of the 1st, Missoula tied the game in the bottom half, sending a 1-1 tie to the 2nd . The O's fired the offense back up later in the 6th , plating two runs, and drawing the game to the closest mark.

After Billings answered with two more runs in the top of the 7th , Carranza knocked his fifth homer of the season, cutting the Mustang lead back to three. Billings scored one more in the 9th , putting it too far out of reach.

Offensively, all but one batter recorded a hit for the Osprey, with LF Cesar Garcia ending the night 2- 4 at the plate. A four- game home series continues Saturday night at 7:05 with Timberjacks' Saturday, and Launch- A-Ball. The first 750 fans receive an Osprey cap, sponsored by Donaldson Bro's.

All Osprey game tickets can be purchased at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.
