ZEBULON, N.C. - The Carolina League recently announced the addition of three new All-Stars to the Carolina League's Northern Division All-Star team, including LHP Tyler Erwin of the Frederick Keys and both LHP Jordan Mills and RHP Ronald Pena of the Potomac Nationals.
The P-Nats will now be represented by a league leading eight players in the upcoming All-Star Classic event. Mills and Pena join fellow Potomac players C Tres Barrera, OF Carter Keiboom, OF Jake Noll, RHP Will Crowe, RHP Tyler Mapes and RHP Sterling Sharp on the Northern Division team.
Erwin is now one of five Frederick Keys to make the Northern Division team. He joins the Carolina League's top hitter in OF Ryan McKenna as well as teammates RHP Cristian Alvarado, LHP Alex Wells and NC State standout OF Preston Palmeiro.
The 2018 Carolina League All-Star Classic presented by US Foods© is scheduled to begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19 at Five County Stadium. The Five County Stadium gates will open to fans at 4:30 p.m. and an autograph session with the All-Star players will run from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The All-Star game will be preceded by an on-field event presented by the Miracle League of the Triangle beginning at 6:15 p.m. This special on-field event will feature the Miracle League of the Triangle children playing and paired up in a game with the All-Star players from both teams.
The All-Star Classic game jerseys worn by the All-Stars will be autographed and made available to fans through an online auction at auctions.carolinamudcats.com. All proceeds from the online jersey auction will benefit The Miracle League of the Triangle.
Country music artist Jason Michael Carroll will perform the National Anthem. In-game entertainment will feature the ZOOperstars from "America's Got Talent" and BirdZerk. The All-Star Classic game will also be followed by a post-game fireworks show.
Individual game tickets begin at just $13 and are available at www.carolinamudcats.com/ASC, by calling (919) 269-2287 (CATS) and by visiting the Five County Stadium front office in Zebulon, NC. Group packages and family pack plans are also available.
