Cards' starter Eric Haberer then walked with the bases loaded, forcing in a run to make it 8-0. Tyler Greene picked up an RBI to make it 9-0, reaching on a fielder's choice. The Cards made it 10-0, when a ball off the bat of Rasmus was dropped by left fielder Matt Miller, allowing McCoy to score the final run of the inning.

Tulsa got their only run of the night, against Cards' starter Eric Haberer in the fifth. Haberer, who used two double-plays to get out of jams in the first two innings, walked a pair of men with two outs in the fifth. Joe Gaetti's RBI single to center brought home Chris Frey from second with the Drillers' only run, making it 10-1. Haberer allowed just the one run on four hits in his first start of the season. In earning his first win of the year, Haberer (1-0) walked four and recorded one strikeout in five total innings.

Springfield rounded out the scoring by adding three runs in the eighth, with Juan Richardson and Joe Mather collecting RBIs. The final run scored on Tulsa's fourth error of the game, when Jarrett Hoffpauir's grounder to third was misplayed by Christian Colonel, making it 13-1.
