
Cards and Missions Rained Out on Thursday

Springfield Cardinals News Release
Thursday's game between the Springfield Cardinals and the San Antonio Missions has been postponed due to continuous heavy rain in the San Antonio area. Thursday's game will be made up as part of a double-header on Friday night. Friday's double-header will begin at 6:00pm at Nelson Wolff Municipal Stadium.
P.J. Walters (1-3) will start game one for the Cards, taking on Mike Ekstrom (6-8) of the Missions. Scheduled to start game two for the Cardinals is left-hander Eric Haberer (11-6). San Antonio is slated to throw left-hander Wade Leblanc (3-3).
Don't forget that the Cardinals will return to Hammons Field on Tuesday, August 21st, as they take on the Tulsa Drillers in the opening game of a four-game set. 2,500 fans will receive a Red Schoendienst Figurine on Tuesday night, thanks to AT&T. Game time on Tuesday is set for 7:10pm and gates open at 6:10pm.
