Cardona Added to Active Roster

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release


Battle Creek, MI -Southwest Michigan Devil Rays newcomer, Jason St. Clair, has been moved to the temporarily inactive list. St. Clair came to Southwest Michigan Wednesday, May 24. He played in one game at second base and went 0-4 at the plate. St. Clair was the Rays' tenth round choice in the 2001 June draft. He has made his rounds in the Devil Rays farm system playing in Princeton in 2001, Charleston and Hudson Valley in 2002, Charleston and Hudson Valley in 2003, Charleston and Bakersfield in 2004, and Visalia in 2005 and 2006.

Taking St. Clair's spot on the roster is David Cardona. Cardona is an outfielder that has been on the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays roster since the beginning of the season but has been on the disabled list. Cardona began the season with a sprained toe and has yet to see any action as a Devil Ray. Cardona was drafted in the eighth round of the 2001 draft by the Dodgers. The Devil Rays signed him as a free agent in December 2004 and he spent the 2005 season with the Hudson Valley Renegades.
