(Greenville, SC)--Frank Herrmann and three Captains relievers combined on a four-hit shutout of the Greenville Drive Saturday night, as the Captains claimed a 2-0 win at West End Field.

The Captains (23-17) won three of four games in the series against the Drive (23-19). On Sunday afternoon at 5:35, the Captains will begin a four-game series at Augusta.

Herrmann (3-5) started and pitched the first five innings Saturday, giving up one infield hit to Dominic Ramos in the third inning. That hit was originally scored a fielder's choice, but was changed to a hit after the game. Herrmann walked three and struck out six and won for the first time in nine starts.

The Captains scored both runs in the fourth inning against Greenville starter Mike Rozier (4-5). Max Ramirez doubled to left with one out. After Josh Noviskey walked, Ramirez scored on P.J. Hiser's single. Noviskey later scored on a sacrifice fly by Niuman Romero.

After Herrmann left, Doodle Hicks tossed two scoreless innings, and Jason Schutt came on and pitched a scoreless eighth. Closer Matt Davis entered in the ninth and worked around a two-out double by Aaron Bates for his 24th save.

Davis tied the Captains team record of 24 saves, which was set last season by Kieran Mattison.

It was the fifth shutout of the season for the Captains who remain in second in the SAL North, four games behind Lakewood.
