Hagerstown Suns News Release
Augusta, GA: A four-run fourth inning was enough for the Augusta GreenJackets as they beat the Suns 6-3 on Saturday night to win the series three games to one. The Suns (18-23) had an early 2-0 lead on an a Drew Butera RBI single and Will Vogl RBI groundout in the second. However, Jonathon Niese (11-7) couldn't get past the third inning. Niese was cruising right along with 2 1/3 perfect innings to start the game but allowed seven straight batters to reach safely in the third to let Augusta (33-9) take a 4-2 lead. Brandon Nall did pitch well in relief, as did Jim Wladyka and Kevin Tomasiewicz. Combined they gave up just two earned runs in five innings of relief to keep it close.
Sunday at 5:05pm the Suns will open up a four game series in Greenville versus the Drive, and will have Deolis Guerra going against LHP Ryan Phillips.
