Captains Sweep Midwest League Weekly Honors

Lake County Captains News Release


(EASTLAKE, OH) - The Midwest League and the Lake County Captains, the 2010 Midwest League Champions and class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, have announced that Captains outfielder ANTHONY GALLAS has been named the Midwest League Player of the Week and MIKE RAYL Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 2-8.

Gallas, a 23 year old Strongsville native and Kent State University grad, batted .433 (13-30) with five doubles, three RBI's while scoring six runs this past week. He is currently 7th in the MWL with a .343 average and leads the league in doubles with 14.

Rayl, 22 from Lake Worth, FL, had one start and threw seven scoreless innings allowing only one hit and striking out a career high 11 batters. Rayl currently is 3-0 with a 2.08 ERA on the season.
