Bandits Drop Series Finale With Wisconsin

The River Bandits took a 1-0 lead in the fourth before surrendering four runs to Wisconsin in the bottom of the same inning. The Bandits then went on to lose the game 5-4.

Bandit starter Trevor Rosenthal (1-4)l had trouble with the Timber Rattlers batters. Rosenthal went three innings allowing four runs on five hits while striking out four. He also walked two batters in the game. Boone Whiting came into the game in the fourth and went six innings allowing one run on three hits while striking out five.

The Bandits offense collected six hits throughout the night with Greg Garcia (2-for-4, BB) leading the way. Oscar Taveras went 1-for-3 in the game with a walk as well. Trailing 5-3 in the top of the eighth, Chris Edmondson (1-for-3, BB) hit his first homer of the year to pull the game within one.

Timber Rattlers starter Matthew Miller went four innings allowing one run on one hit while striking out two. However, he walked seven Bandit batters in the game. Charly Bashara (2-1) came into the game in the fifth and went three innings allowing one run on two hits while striking out one. Greg Holle (6) went 1.1 innings scoreless innings allowing one hit while striking out one.

The Bandits begin a three-game home stand with the Clinton LumberKings Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park.
