Paul Estrada surrendered a run in two innings of work before turning things over to Chad Reineke who posted a scoreless frame while striking out three.
Dan Cevette (2-1) also went six innings for the Captains and limited the Legends to two singles, one each by Drew Sutton and Mitch Einertson.
The series is tied at one game apiece with game three set for Saturday night at 7:05pm. It will be a battle of all-stars. Juan Gutierrez (4-2) will seek his fifth consecutive win while Aaron Laffey (6-3) will look for his second win over the Legends in 2005. The Progressive Direct pre-game show will kick off network coverage beginning at 6:50.
