Captains Lose to Greensboro in 10 Innings

(Eastlake, OH) - Ryan Curry led off the tenth inning with a solo home run to lead the Greensboro Grasshoppers to a 3-1 win over the Lake County Captains at Classic Park on Thursday. Brad Stone picked up his 3rd win in relief and Garrett Parcell notched his seventh save and his second in as many days. The Captains have been held scoreless by the Grasshoppers bullpen over 13 innings of work. The Grasshoppers took the lead in the fifth inning off of Captains starter Ryan Miller. Adam Howard led off the inning with a double. A sacrifice bunt moved him to third. He would score on a wild pitch to make it 1-0. The Captains came right back and tied it in the bottom half of the inning. Lucas Montero led off the inning by walking. He went to third on Jansy Infante's single. He would score on Adam White's fielder's choice.

Jonathan Holt started the tenth inning for the Captains and gave up the home run to Curry and gave up an additional run on a Ben Lasater RBI single. Holt took the loss and drops to 0-3 on the season.

The final game of the series is Friday with game time at 7:05 PM. The Captains send RHP Santo Frias to the mound (1-1, 4.58) against the Grasshoppers RHP Stuart Alexander (3-1, 3.70). On Friday, Chick-fil-A will be at the ballpark to celebrate the grand opening of its new store in Willoughby. One lucky fan at Friday's game will win a free year of Chick-fil-A. This Saturday, the Kannapolis Intimidators come to Classic Park for a five game series to be played over four days with a doubleheader slated for Sunday. The doubleheader will be two 7-inning games, with the first game starting at 1:05 PM. All Family Fun Day events will take place and Kids Run the Bases will take place after the second game.
