LAKEWOOD, N.J. - The Lakewood BlueClaws are proud to announce the 2008 BlueClaws Youth Baseball Camp has been scheduled for the week of July 7-11. The camp is open to all 7-12 year old boys and girls and runs from 9am-1pm each day.
On Wednesday, July 9, campers will come to the ballpark as a group to enjoy the 11:05am BlueClaws game against the August Green Jackets.
The camp will cover all phases of the game, with emphasis on the areas of hitting, pitching, fielding, position work and more. Campers will be broken into groups based on age. The staff for the camp will be the current Lakewood BlueClaws players and coaching staff. Campers will participate in a variety of drills and activities as well as experience game situations and strategies.
The objective of the BlueClaws Youth Baseball Camp is to instill the fundamentals of baseball, promote good sportsmanship and create an enjoyable learning atmosphere for all campers.
Registration for the camp is $175 per camper and includes four days of instruction, lunch each day, an official BlueClaws Camp t-shirt, a ticket to the July 9 BlueClaws game and a hot dog voucher for that game. There will also be an autograph session on the last day of camp.
