
Suns Continue Homestand Versus West Virginia Power

HAGERSTOWN, MD - The Hagerstown Suns continue the homestand tonight against the West Virginia Power. The Suns and Power have split the series so far, one game apiece. Game time for the final two games on Thursday and Friday is 6:35 p.m.
The first 500 fans entering the gates Friday night will receive a Suns trophy, compliments of Aladdin Awards. Visit the Suns website for a picture of the trophy www.hagerstownsuns.com. The Suns will hold a pre-game ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new infield installed at Municipal Stadium this off-season. The original ceremony was rained-out on Opening Day. Friday night's game is also Strike Out Tobacco Day.
The Suns will host the Greensboro Grasshoppers, an affiliate of the Florida Marlins, for 4+ games beginning on Saturday, May 3rd. The Suns and Grasshoppers played to a suspended game in Greensboro on Sunday, April 27th. After five completed innings the score was tied 2-2, and the game was suspended due to weather conditions. The remaining four innings of that game will be completed at 5:35 p.m. on Saturday, May 3rd before the regularly-scheduled nine-inning game.
Gates to Municipal Stadium will open at 4:35 p.m. on Saturday. Be sure to come early and be among the first 1,000 fans to receive a 2008 Hagerstown Suns Team photo presented by The Herald Mail. While you are at the ballpark enjoy Italian Heritage Night with themed food and music will be presented throughout Municipal Stadium. The Suns will be wearing their alternate red, white and blue uniforms for Patriotic Saturdays presented by WJAL TV68. Also, don't miss out on your chance to broadcast a Suns game live on True Oldies 95.9! The Suns satellite radio booth will be located behind home plate and a different Suns' fan will have the opportunity to join the Suns broadcast team on the air for one half-inning of play.
Sunday May 4th will be a 2:05 p.m. start time and gates will be open at 1:05 p.m. The Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, Anthony G. Brown, is expected to attend Foster Parent Recruitment Day at Municipal Stadium, presented by Maryland Department of Human Resources-Washington County Department of Social Services. Sunday will also be Firefighter Appreciation Day; all firefighters and rescue personnel must wear their uniform shirts to receive up to four free general admission tickets. Other promotions on Sunday include: Suns Story Time presented by Washington Co. Arts Council and Lite 97.5 FM; Antietam Cable Kids Run The Bases post-game; and Suns On Sundays presented by Pictures Plus and True Oldies 95.9 FM. Immediately following the game the Suns will host a live post-game show at Beef âO' Brady's located on North Pointe Drive in Hagerstown. Join the Suns broadcast team, along with players and coaches as the Suns continue their live broadcast on True Oldies 95.9 FM.
Be the first 500 fans to enter the game on Monday May 5th to receive a Suns alternate "H" logo hat. Game time is at 6:35 p.m. and gates open at 5:35 p.m. Don't forget that every Monday is "Feed Your Face" Monday presented by WAYZ 104.7 FM. All tickets are $10 for general admission and $13 for VIP seats. Prices include all-you-can-eat select concessions items and your ticket to the game.
The final game of the Suns' homestand is Tuesday May 6th and its Senior Tuesday presented by True Oldies 95.9 FM, admission is only $2 for all Seniors 60 & over. Tuesday will also mark the second Education Day presented by Antietam Cable & Channel 55. Local schools will come out to Municipal Stadium and learn how baseball can be educational. Game time will be at 10:35 a.m. and gates will open at 9:00 a.m.
