Caps Drop Series Finale in Green Bay, Settle for Weekend Split
December 11, 2021 - United States Hockey League (USHL)
Madison Capitols News Release
The Madison Capitols drop tonight's series finale with the Green Bay Gamblers 6-2. The season series between the two intrastate rivals moves to 3-2 in favor of Madison.
Despite putting 40 shots on net in tonight's contest, the Caps found the twine only twice. At 17:45 of the 2nd period, Jake Dunlap put back a rebound in the slot with authority to give the Caps their first of the night. Dunlap's team leading 10th goal of the season made the game 4-1 in favor of Green Bay. Dan Sambuco pulled Madison with two of Green Bay with 8:44 left in regulation when he ripped home a snapshot from the right faceoff dot for his fourth of the season.
Green Bay added two more following Sambuco's goal to put the seal on tonight's contest.
These two Eastern Conference foes wont have to wait long to see each other again as they drop the puck for the third consecutive game on Thursday, December 16th.
