Manitoba Moose News Release
Today, the Vancouver Canucks announced they have recalled centre Brandon Reid from the Manitoba Moose.
Reid, 22, is the team's leading scorer with 15 goals and 43 points in 56 games played this season with the Moose. He is also the team leader with 28 assists. The Kirkland, PQ native recently scored his first career hat trick and became just the fourth player in Moose history to score four goals in one game in a 5-0 victory over the San Antonio Rampage on Feb. 21/04. This will be Reid's second recall to the Canucks this season. In two previous games, he scored one assist on Jan. 15/04 at the San Jose Sharks.
Last season, Reid was Manitoba's leading scorer with 52 points (18G, 34A) and 18 penalty minutes. He registered ten multi-point games last year with the Moose. Reid has played in 174 games for the Moose over his three-year career and has scored 45 goals, 77 assists for 121 points. Reid also played in seven regular season games with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks last season, scoring two goals and five points. He also saw action in nine playoff games for Vancouver, registering one assist.
Reid was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their fifth choice, 208th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.
