
Aeros Charities staying busy

Houston, TX â The Houston Aeros Charities Department is in full swing, looking forward to several big events in the upcoming months. Jersey Off Their Backs tickets are currently being sold; the Aeros Blood Drive is set for Saturday, March 6; the Celebrity Waiter Dinner and Auction is Tuesday, March 9; and the Spirit of Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show, presented by Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, is Friday, April 2. In addition, the Aeros continue to accept nominations for Fort Bend County Woman of the Year.
Jersey Off Their Backs scratch-off tickets can be purchased at Aeros home games and other select Aeros events. Tickets are three for $5, and every ticket is a winner thanks to sponsors Landry's and 24 Hour Fitness. Many will receive free Aeros tickets. Twenty grand prize winners will receive a special Minnesota Wild jersey that the team will wear on April 10. Jersey Off Their Backs benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The Aeros Blood Drive will take place on Saturday, March 6, from 2-8 p.m. at both Willowbrook and Sugar Land Aerodromes, and also at Toyota Center. Everyone who donates will receive a Give Blood, Play Hockey T-Shirt, and a special 2-for-1 ticket offer for a select March game.
The Sixth Annual Celebrity Waiter Auction and Dinner is Tuesday, March 9 at the Warwick Hotel. Festivities get underway with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. Aeros players and coaches, as well as minority owner Chuck Watson and president Tom Garrity, will serve as the wait staff for the patrons. All waiters will serve tables for the generous tips of the patrons. The Celebrity Waiter Auction and Dinner benefits T-Care, the Espiritu de Salud Mobile Clinic and Houston Aeros Charities. The Fifth Annual Spirit of Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show, presented by Memorial Hermann Healthcare System, is set for Friday, April 2 at the Warwick Hotel. The auction will begin at 11 a.m., followed by lunch and the Fashion Show at 12 p.m. This event benefits The Children's Assessment Center, which serviced 4,730 children and their families in 2003 alone.
