Canton Acquires Uzoh from Tulsa

The Canton Charge have acquired guard Ben Uzoh (6'3", 205, Tulsa) from the Tulsa 66ers in exchange for the rights to the Texas Legends' third round draft choice in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft. Canton had previously acquired the pick from Texas on November 6th in exchange for the rights to center Micheal Eric.

Uzoh brings two seasons of NBA experience, having played in 42 games with the New Jersey Nets during the 2010-11 season and averaged 3.8 points on .424 shooting with 1.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 10.4 minutes per game. He played for both the Toronto Raptors (20 games) and Cleveland Cavaliers (two games) during the 2011-12 season and averaged a combined 4.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.9 steals in 20.6 minutes per game.

Uzoh had played in 22 games with Tulsa this season (all starts) and is averaging 12.3 points on .431 shooting with 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.3 minutes per game. Last year with the Springfield Armor, he played in all 50 games (47 starts) and averaged 12.6 points on .409 shooting with 4.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 33.4 minutes per game. Uzoh also played with Rio Grande Valley during the 2011-12 season and Springfield on assignment during the 2010-11 campaign.

Canton has the rights to seven 2014 draft picks: six of their original selections (first, second, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth) as well as Los Angeles' second round choice. The current roster now stands at twelve.
