
BayHawks Acquire Singletary

Erie, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, January 22 - The Erie BayHawks have acquired guard Sean Singletary from the Texas Legends today in a four team trade. In exchange, the BayHawks have shipped Mustafa Shakur to the Tulsa 66ers.
Singletary (6-0, 185, Virginia) is averaging 10.4 points and 4.1 assists per game in 20 appearances for the Texas Legends this season. He is an NBA veteran of 37 games with the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2008-09 season and he has also spent time in training camp with the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers.
As a senior at the University of Virginia, Singletary averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 assists per game. He was named All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Singletary also became the first player in ACC history to record 2,000 points, 500 assists 400 rebounds and 200 steals in a career.
To complete the trade, Maine acquired Daniel Orton from the 66ers and Tyler Brown from Texas while the Legends received Fab Melo from Maine.
Pending physicals by all parties involved in the trade, Singletary is expected to join the team tomorrow. The BayHawks host the Springfield Amor for a 3-2-1 Thursday at 7 pm tomorrow night and the Iowa Energy on Saturday and Sunday at the Erie Insurance Arena.
