TULSA, Okla., January 22, 2014 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, acquired guard Mustafa Shakur and a future third-round draft pick through separate transactions, the team announced Wednesday. Shakur is a two-time NBA D-League All-Star who has previously played for both the 66ers and the Thunder.

Tulsa acquired Shakur from the Erie BayHawks through a four-team trade in exchange for center Daniel Orton, who was traded to the Maine Red Claws. Maine traded center Fab Melo to the Texas Legends, who sent guard Tyler Brown to Maine and guard Sean Singletary to Erie. The entirety of the four-team deal is contingent on all players passing physicals.

In a separate transaction, Tulsa acquired a third-round draft pick in the 2014 NBA D-League Draft from the Canton Charge in exchange for guard Ben Uzoh. The acquired draft pick originally belonged to the Texas Legends.

Shakur (6-3, 190, Arizona), a member of the 66ers during the 2009-10 season, returns to Tulsa with career NBA D-League averages of 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 94 games (all starts). While with the 66ers, he received a GATORADE Call-Up with the Oklahoma City Thunder in March of 2010.

While a member of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in 2011-12, Shakur received a GATORADE Call-Up to the Washington Wizards, averaging 2.3 points, 1.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 22 games.

Shakur is expected to be in uniform when the 66ers host the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday night at the SpiritBank Event Center.
