SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Santa Cruz Warriors defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 99-90 Tuesday on Grind Out Hunger Night Presented by Wells Fargo, improving to 13-9 on the season.

Santa Cruz was led by William Buford, who scored 18 points. Dominic McGuire recorded the lone double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 boards, while Scott Machado dished out a game-high seven assists.

Sioux Falls' Tre Kelley led all scorers with 23 points. DeAndre Liggins scored 15 points and had a game-high three steals, while Henry Walker and Justin Hamilton each scored 13.

Sioux Falls led most of the first quarter, holding as much as a seven-point advantage on the Warriors, but Santa Cruz ended the period on a 10-2 run to take a 27-23 lead into the second quarter. The Warriors never looked back, and while Sioux Falls came within five in the fourth, Santa Cruz responded each time, extending its lead to as much as 15 late in the quarter.

The Warriors held the Skyforce to an all-time opponent-low 29 rebounds. Santa Cruz had 49 boards and held the edge on assists (21-19), while committing fewer turnovers (16-17). Sioux Falls outshot the Warriors (47.8%-46.3%).
