Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, Pa. -- The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, signed Cecil Township native Chris Sidick Thursday, according to officials.
Sidick became the 104th All-American in Marietta College baseball history in 2004. He was given third team honors.
Sidick, a 2004 second team All-American, led Marietta in batting average (.384), slugging percentage (.768), on-base percentage (.500), runs scored (55), triples (7), home runs (12), total bases (116), walks (32) and stolen bases (26). The two-time Jack Rafeld OAC Player of the Year was also second on the team in hits (58) and RBI (40) this spring.
"We think Chris will add a nice element to this team," said Ross Vecchio, general manage of the Wild Things. "We've been very pleased with his predecessors. Coakley and Bradley were both great players."
Sidick, a Canon McMillan graduate, is the third Marietta College graduate to play for the Wild Things. Jay Coakley and David Bradley were both graduates of the Ohio college.
