
Cannon, Majewski homer to lead Fisher Cats over Rock Cats, 7-3

Manchester, NH- Dustin Majewski and Chip Cannon both hit home runs to lead the New Hampshire Fisher Cats' 15-hit barrage in a 7-3 victory over the New Britain Rock Cats before 4,028 fans at Merchantsauto.com Stadium Thursday night.
Majewski (2-for-5, 2 RBI, 2 R) drilled a two-run homer, his fifth, over the rightfield wall off New Britain starter Justin Olson (6-4) in the bottom of the second inning to give New Hampshire (46-59) a 4-0 lead.
Cannon (2-for-4, 2 RBI) added his 18th home run of the season, a solo blast off Olson in the third inning that built the Fisher Cats lead to 5-0.
Olson was rocked for six runs on 10 hits, allowing a walk and striking out four.
Jordan DeJong (2-0) came on for David Purcey (4.1 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 5 BB, 8 K) with one out in the fifth inning, holding New Britain (44-58) scoreless over 2.2 innings to record his first victory since May 8. DeJong allowed one hit and one walk, struck out two and extended his scoreless-innings string to 10.1 IP over his last six outings.
Ryan Klosterman, Ryan Patterson and Tim Olson all had RBIs for the Fisher Cats, who dropped the Rock Cats into last place in the Eastern League's Northern Division.
New Hampshire left-hander Ricky Romero (0-3, 8.00) seeks his first Double-A victory Friday night at 6:35pm when he matches up with New Britain left-hander Brian Duensing (0-1, 3.86).
