Cann the Man - ECHL Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Trevor Cann of the Brampton Beast is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Nov. 24-30. It is the second time in his career that he has won the weekly honor. Cann went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .961 in two appearances last week.

The 25-year-old made 32 saves in a 4-3 win at Rapid City on Wednesday and then stopped all 41 shots he faced in a 2-0 victory against the Rush on Friday.

A native of Oakville, Ontario, Cann has appeared in 10 games for the Beast this season posting a record of 4-3-1 with one shutout, a 3.94 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912.

Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the second round (49th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Cann has appeared in 40 career ECHL games with Brampton, Florida and Colorado with an overall record of 19-14-2 with five shutouts, a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .897. He has also seen action in 45 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie.

See Cann in action this weekend as the Beast host the Wichita Thunder for back-to-back games Friday night and Saturday afternoon, before playing host to the Wheeling Nailers on Sunday. Fans attending Friday's game will receive a voucher for a free slice of pizza courtesy of Pizza Pizza, while the Peel Regional Police will be on hand to collect new and unwrapped toys for our Toys for Tots game.

All fans in attendance at Saturday's game will receive free hot dogs from Maple Lodge Farms with a valid game ticket. Sunday marks the Beast's First Annual Teddy Bear Toss, where Teddy Bears will be available for purchase on the concourse for $2 or 3 for $5 courtesy of Canadian Tire, with proceeds going towards the CTC's Jump Start Program.
