Sioux Falls Canaries News Release
SIOUX FALLS, SD - Sioux Falls Stadium will host a free Led Zeppelin tribute show on Friday, June 6 at 8 p.m. The concert event is in recognition of the 40th Anniversary of the British quartet's self-titled debut album (released in January of 1969). The first official Led Zeppelin concert was held at the University of Surrey in Guildford, England on October 25, 1968.
This concert event marks the return of Zed-Leppelin, who turned in a blistering set in 2006 at the very first Birdcage tribute show event.
"Ever since they played here a couple of years ago, people have been asking us when they were coming back," said Canaries President John Kuhn, "and we are excited to be able to offer this very special, all ages, FREE concert event. Die-hard Zeppelin fans and those who only like one or two songs, are guaranteed to come away very impressed."
Zed-Leppelin is the nation's premier tribute to Led Zeppelin. The group of Minnesota natives shares a commitment to recreating the Led Zeppelin concert experience. Zed-Leppelin's set list includes classics like Stairway to Heaven, Good Times Bad Times, Dazed and Confused, and virtually every well-known Zeppelin tune; and some of the rare gems like "Hey, Hey, What Can I Say?"
"Their lead singer has the look of Robert Plant from the long, curly hair to the hip hugging bell-bottoms and flowering shirts," said Kuhn. "His voice has every moan and inflection of the rock legend and he even plays the harmonica to further nail the Plant sound. The boys work the rhythm section like Bonzo and Jonesy and the Page guitar riffs are meticulously recreated. The sound, the clothes, the vibe...this is the closest thing to Zep that fans are likely to ever see. We've done three tribute shows since 2006 and Zed-Leppelin is without question the one that more wanted to see return to the Birdcage."
Gates on show night open at 7 PM with the show starting at 8 PM and going until 10:30 PM. While the show is free to the public, special VIP suite seating is available for purchase by calling the Canaries at 333-0179. Presented by Johnson Brothers/Famous Brands.
