Reilly, Thompson Take Home Weekly Awards

DURHAM, NC -- PA-Sportsticker, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Sioux Falls Canaries 1B Patrick Reilly and El Paso Diablos RHP Chris Thompson as the Teamline Direct Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
In six games, Reilly hit .545 (12-for-22) with one home run, five RBI and four doubles. He also slugged .864 and had an on-base percentage of .600. Thus far in the young season the Sparks, NV resident is hitting .559 with two home runs, 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. Reilly is first in the league in hits (19), on-base percentage (.628) and slugging percentage (.971), second in extra base hits (9) and third in doubles (6).
The 26-year old has played the last three seasons in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization.
Thompson had a sparkling week as the Diablos closer went 1-0 allowing no runs on five hits with seven strikeouts and two saves. He is currently in a four way for first place in the league in saves with three. The Irvington, AL resident was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 21st round of the 2004 MLB draft. He played two seasons in the Diamondbacks organization along with one season with the Washington Nationals before coming over to the Pensacola Pelicans last season.
