Fort Worth, TX - The Sioux Falls Canaries (1-1) suffered their first defeat of 2008, getting shutout 2-0 in a pitcher's duel with the Fort Worth Cats (1-1).

The Cats scored first for the second night in a row when an unearned run put them ahead in the third inning. Fort Worth extended their lead in the eighth inning, when Carter struck again. This time, Carter took a pitch from Angelo Morales deep to left field for his first homer of the year to give the Cats a 2-0 lead.

Brian Martin held the Canaries off the scoreboard in the eighth inning, and Jon Hunton closed it out in the ninth for his first save of the year.
