
Saints Trade For Rookie Catcher

ST. PAUL, MN - The St. Paul Saints received rookie catcher Zach Goldberg from the Evansville Otters for a player to be named later.
The 24-year-old Goldberg enters his second professional season after spending 2007 with the Sioux City Explorers (American Association) and the Kalamazoo Kings (Frontier League). He hit .281 with two homers and seven RBI in 13 games played between the two teams. In 32 at bats he had two doubles, scored five runs, a slugging percentage of .531 and an on-base percentage of .303.
The Saints roster now stands at 24 players, nine pitchers, 14 position players and one inactive pitcher. The Saints can carry 24 players during the first two weeks of the season and then must be at the league maximum of 22.
