Sioux Falls, SD - For the second game in a row, the Canaries (14-5) went to a tenth inning and pulled out a victory over the St. Joe Blacksnakes (5-14), getting a 3-2 win at the Birdcage Wednesday night.

The Blacksnakes bit first, scoring two in the fourth inning. Chad Sosebee and Adam Balkan each drew a two-out walk, and Casey Gordon tripled down the right field line to score them both and give the Blacksnakes a 2-0 lead.

The Birds retaliated in the home half of the fourth. Wil Quintana singled followed by a Will Smith double. With both runners in scoring position, Ben Van Iderstine singled over Blacksnakes first baseman Dustin Yount to bring home Quintana and Smith tying the game at 2-2.

The score stayed tied until the tenth inning. The Canaries loaded the bases on singles by James Shanks and David Keesee and Abner Arroyo being hit by a pitch. With the bases loaded a passed ball allowed Shanks to score the game-winning run in the Canaries 3-2 victory.

Sean Donlin (1-0) earned his first win of the season for the Canaries, pitching the last four innings, giving up only three hits and one walk, while striking out four. Dustin Bolton (0-1) suffered the loss for the Blacksnakes.

The Canaries wrap up their series with St. Joe on Thursday, May 31 with the "Dan Christopherson Memorial Megan Fund Night." The Canaries will play a weekend series against Sioux City thru Sunday at the Birdcage.
