El Paso, TX - The Sioux Falls Canaries (18-12) won their third consecutive game, defeating the El Paso Diablos (13-18) by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday night at Cohen Stadium in El Paso. Ryan Ford picked up his third win in four starts, pitching 7.1 shutout innings, scattering nine hits.

The Diablos catcher Mat Kent threw the ball into right field on the play, allowing Smyth to reach second, Reilly to advance to third, and Van Iderstine to score for a 1-0 Canaries lead. Tim Hutting followed with a single to plate Reilly, and Kennard Bibbs added a single to score Smyth. The three fifth inning runs, put the Canaries ahead, 3-0.
