MONTREAL, QC - The Montreal Canadiens announced tonight that forwards Ryan White and Ian Schultz have been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs. Both players will be practicing with Montreal on Monday, and will be available for that night's home game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
White, 23, played his first games of the season in a conditioning stint with the Bulldogs after recovering from a sports hernia sustained during Montreal's training camp. The 6-foot, 188-pound forward registered 5 points (4 goals, 1 assist) in 4 games. In 43 career regular season games in the NHL, White has registered seven points (2 goals, 5 assists), 117 hits and 54 penalty minutes. The native of Brandon, Manitoba played 33 games for the Hamilton Bulldogs in the 2010-2011 season, recording 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists) in the regular season, and eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) in 13 post-season games.
Schultz, 22, played in 36 games for the Bulldogs this season, recording 13 points (3 goals, 10 assists), 83 penalty minutes, and a +3 plus/minus rating. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Calgary, Alberta native suited up for 45 games with the Bulldogs in 2010-2011, registering 4 points (3 goals, 1 assist) and 49 penalty minutes in the regular season, and 2 goals in 15 post-season games.
The Bulldogs' next game will take place on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. when they host the St. John's IceCaps on Home Depot Night. The 'Dogs continue their 3-in-3 weekend on Saturday, February 18th, 2012 when they take on the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. at Copps Coliseum before travelling to Rochester on Sunday, February 19th, 2012 to face the Americans at 5:05 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena.
